September is
recognized as Menopause Awareness Month. During this month I will periodically share my observations, tips, and
thoughts, with a scoop of humor.
Here are my
ramblings for today…
No need to be
frustrated about the annoying symptoms of menopause. As one of the insurance commercials says, ”think of all the money
you’ll save…” (by utilizing your menopause symptoms).
Gym
Memberships
Give up your
gym membership. You can get the same workout as you sleep. A simple round of
night sweats will have you feeling like you’re swimming laps.
Hot
Flashes
Any hot
flashes you experience can be equated to running a 50-yard dash.
Mood
Swings
Think of
mood swings as enhancing your personality. Some people speak two languages, you
can transform yourself into two people.
Have you
ever felt like you have to laugh to keep from crying (as the saying goes)?
Sometimes a little laughter helps to ease stress we’re feeling. I have just the
thing for you. I’ve teamed up with Dr. Joy for a Girls Night In. Our event is Take
a Men-It-to Pause. It will be a night of hormones, hope, and humor.
Girls Night
In will include story sharing, games, prizes, and comedy. This free event will
take place by Zoom on Tuesday, September 8th at 7pm (EST). Space is
limited, register by Saturday, September 5th (through Eventbrite).
Whether you
experience brain fog, mood swings, or hot flashes, there is hope, healing and
humor through the stages of menopause.
Here’s a
homework assignment for you. Think about your funniest menopausal moment – did that
memory bring a smile to your face? Hold that thought and share it with us
during A Men-It-to Pause. You will get through this season; you are not
alone.
It’s time to
celebrate YOU.
