Motivational Monday – Create and celebrate your success – 3 Tips to get you started

Success is...a road trip to perform comedy.

What is the story behind your glory? We all have something to shout about, give praise, or simply say thank you. When seeds are planted, your harvest eventually grows. Celebrate the stage you’re in right now.

There is a gospel song where the lyrics say, “I’ve had some good days, and I’ve had some hills to climb, but all of my good days outweigh my bad days…” Even though some days seem like a challenge, keep pressing forward, and let your good days outweigh your bad days.

Create your success now - Here are 3 Tips:

1.      Determine what success means to you – does it mean starting a project you’ve always wanted to do? Does it mean focusing on your health and wellness? Maybe success is getting your child into a college. You decide.

2.      Visualize your goals – what does success look like to you? Create a vision board with pictures of what you want to achieve.

3.      Get rid of limiting beliefs – no more saying, “I don’t have the skills for that job,” or “I could never do that.” Instead of saying those phrases try saying, “I am, I can, I will” and add whatever you want behind those statements.

Celebrate each step along your path to success.

Here are three quotes of encouragement:

1.      “All dream can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”    -Walt Disney

2.      “The whole secret of a successful life is to find what is one’s destiny to do, and then do it.” -   Henry Ford

3.      “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”    -Arthur Ashe

Motivational Monday – Do Not Give Up – 3 Scriptures to Encourage Your Success

Don’t Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t quit.

Circumstances in life can make it easy for us to become discouraged. It’s easy to give up, but it takes courage and determination to stick with something when you feel challenged. Above is one stanza from the popular poem Don’t Quit. I like the line that says, “rest if you must, but don’t quit.”

When you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or just plain tired…pause…rest, and find something that encourages you. It can be difficult to focus on success with work, school, or anything else, when situations are less than ideal. Below are three scriptures that encourage success.

·         “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3 ESV
·         “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4 ESV
·         “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 ESV

Each day build time into your schedule to pause, rest, meditate. Think about the direction you want your life to take, pray about it. Believe it and you will achieve it.

Do not give up. Don’t Quit.

Motivational Monday – Success Check-up

“The secret to success is to do the common things uncommonly well.” John D. Rockefeller Jr.

Today I’m your accountability partner, mainly because I need to hold myself accountable as well. We are half-way through the year, are you working toward your goals? I know you’ve identified something that you hope to accomplish this year, no matter how small or large.

If you have not done so already, create a success journal. In your journal list two or three goals that you want to reach by the end of the year. Each week set small objects, things that you will do to bring you closer to reaching your goal.

Don’t wait until you reach your end goal to reward yourself. Celebrate small success along the way to keep yourself motivated. It’s never too late to get started. Go ahead, make your list of goals or review the goals you set earlier in the year.

Stay focused and go after what you want.

Tuesday Tips – 3 Reasons to create a success journal

I want financial freedom. I want to travel more. I want to write a book. Have you ever made a declarative statement of something you want to accomplish? What is stopping you from pursuing those things? Jump start your journey by creating a success journal.

Your success journal does not have to be extravagant. Think of the acronym K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Silly). Here are 3 reasons why you should keep a success journal.

1.      Keep you focused
2.      Celebrate your accomplishments along the way
3.      Helps you understand your why – better understanding of yourself and why you’re doing this thing you want to do

There are different ways to approach your success journal. You can grab a spiral notebook and get started or purchase a fancy journal. Chose a method that fits your personality. One approach is to create a goal at the beginning of the week. Each day write an entry that reflects one positive thing that you did toward your goal.

If your ultimate goal is financial freedom, perhaps your goal for the week is to cut back on mindless spending. If your goal is to write a book, set dedicated writing time each day, even if it is only 30 minutes. You decide you want to travel more. During week one, you could dedicate time to research places you want to go and identify the expenses.

If you prefer to have something more regimented, purchase Success Journal that gives you points to start with. There are journals that begin each page with an encouraging quote followed by space to write your vision, dream or accomplishment.

Words of Wisdom – Success is an inside job

There were nearly 200 people in the audience on that early Saturday morning I attended a speakers workshop. The guest speaker captivated the audience as she walked onto the stage with poise and spoke with confidence as she told us success is an inside job.
You hold the key to creating happiness in your life. You have to choose to be happy regardless of your circumstances. Your thoughts are powerful. Success begins with a thought, the thought creates a feeling and the feeling creates an action.
Your conscious mind knows what to do, but your subconscious is blocking it. The workshop speaker told us that our subconscious is based on emotion, and emotion overrides logic and rationale. All change happens at a subconscious level.
What does all of this mean? Change your thoughts to get your conscious and subconscious in agreement in order to reach your goals.
