Words of Wisdom - Crazy Wisdom - Fall into Fitness

Fall is in the air, it's time to "leaf" some things behind, and refresh. I know, it's corny, but I thought it was worth a chuckle. but really, fall is a good time to reboot, reenergize, and refresh those ideas, goals or projects you want to do before the end of the year.

My focus is on fitness and self-care. Actually my focus has been on fitness all year, but I feel like I need to recommit to my goals and modify where needed. Come with me on this journey. Check out my article in The Crazy Wisdom Journal - Fall Into Fitness - Seven Fun Ways to Ease into Fitness.

Wednesday Wisdom – World Book Day – 10 Ways to celebrate

Do you need a reason to immerse yourself in a good book? Well, World Book Day is celebrated on March 3rd. The purpose of World Book Day is to ensure that every child has a book of their own. You can be a part of the initiative by donating a book to a child and encouraging your friends to do the same.

If yo9u love books as much as a child does, here are more ways to celebrate:

1.      Read a book

2.      Share a book

3.      Listen to a book in your car during a long commute

4.      Buy a book for a friend

5.      Visit the library and check out a book by your favorite author

6.      Write a book ( or at least begin the process)

7.      Participate in a book discussion group

8.      Watch a movie where one of the characters is an author (there are several on the Hallmark Channel

9.      Donate to a cause that supports literacy

10.  Support an author by giving them a book review

There are a gazillion other ways to celebrate World Book Day, but most of all encourage a child to read. Give them the gift of a book, it could open a whole new world of exploration and creativity.

What else would you add to the list of ways to celebrate World Book Day?

Because it’s World Book Day, I want to offer something to you! Purchase a copy of one of my books today, Menopause Ain’t No Joke or Laughter H.E.L.P.S and you’ll be entered in a drawing for an Amazon gift card. Your purchase must be made by midnight (EST) on March 3rd.

Happy Reading!

Motivational Monday - World Menopause Day – 4 Ways to stress less and enjoy life more

World menopause Day is celebrated, October 18th, press “pause” on everything else and celebrate you. You are uniquely and wonderfully made. The transition to menopause can be frustrating and stressful, but you can make this a stage of discovery. Invest in yourself.

No more permission slips to sign, no more calls of, “I forgot my lunch,” and no more parent conferences. There may still be days that include meditation, medication, and exasperation.

How will you embrace and celebrate aging gracefully? Do things that help you to relax. Here are 4 Ways to stress less and enjoy life more:

1.      Host a tea party – call a few friends, serve finger sandwiches, soup, and something sweet. Celebrate friendships, play games, and laugh a lot.

2.      Plan a Getaway – perhaps it’s a day trip, or a weekend excursion, do something that will leave you feeling refreshed.

3.      Pamper yourself – give yourself a makeover, not because you’re hung up on looks, but because it makes you feel good. A facial refreshes your skin, a massage eases tension, and a different hair style can give you a fun look. Take a few fun photos or selfies.

4.      Engage in laugher – find ways to incorporate humor into your day. Do you enjoy watching romantic comedies, attending comedy shows, or reading books that include humor?

Although World Menopause Day is celebrated on October 18th, it’s just the beginning of embracing aging gracefully. Place a few things on “pause”  and make time for self-care activities that will leave you feeling refreshed.
